Could Artificial Intelligence Add Value To Your Business?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasing at pace and unsurprisingly not everyone is enamored with it. Many have speculated that it won’t be long before robots are replacing humans and understandably, many people have voiced concern.
Recent research from Bersin by Deloitte found that 33% of workers fear that their roles may be carried out by AI in the future. Some also feel that HR professionals should likewise be concerned and that it won’t be long before the entire function can be automated.
But when we stop and think logically about this, it’s highly unlikely that all jobs are going to be wiped out. It’s pretty much assured that there will always be a need for human interaction. However, it is also true that many businesses could benefit from considering whether AI could enhance their existing processes and ways of working.
But what will the future really look like?
It’s been suggested that AI could eradicate the recruitment process of human bias. It could be used to screen characteristics and qualifications of those who excel and then build up criteria to assess candidates against during the screening and selection process. Selecting the right employees doesn’t get much more scientific than that.
AI could also free up time to allow leaders time to focus on leading their teams, and not getting bogged down in transactional activities, which can easily be automated.
Much of this is speculation, however, one thing is for certain; we are entering a new era in the world of work, and opportunities and challenges will exist that we have probably never considered before. Whether you are excited or apprehensive about what the future holds, it’s fair to say that there is a lot of change on the horizon.
